Children and Teens

Helping to improve the mental and emotional health and wellbeing of your child, adolescent or teen.

Childhood is filled with moments of joy and growing pains.

For many children and teens, it is often hard to put their own thoughts and feelings into words, much less know how to cope when facing numerous stressors.
Your child or teen could be struggling with anxiety and depression, inattention, hyperactivity/impulsivity, and low self-esteem. Maybe they’re feeling overwhelmed by circumstances within their environment, such as parental separation, academic/school problems, peer conflicts, or exposure to traumatic experiences.

In efforts to improve the mental and emotional health and wellbeing of your child, therapy is an effective means for kids to create and explore their own goals, and to learn about themselves and their unique strengths. Moreover, therapy can help increase your child’s independence and resilience, and further develop their own capacity to problem-[res]solve the social, relational, and emotional challenges they face. To this end, involving the parent/caregiver in treatment is integral for the child’s success overall.

Through building a trusting and supportive relationship with your child, I aim to help increase their awareness of how negative thoughts and feelings or significant events affect them, as they develop skills to respond to problems more effectively.
